A load of rubbish. You could just as easily turn it around and do the same. And out of all the thousands of gags on these shows and only a finite number in existence, there are bound to be a few coincidents.

meh, the simpsons have done exactly the same in return now that family guy is producing better material and the simpsons is in a bit of a creative slump.

Family guy is crap. The writing is dull - the character development is awful - it isn't remotely clever. It is the most formulaic show I've ever seen and it thrives on its "edginess" which isn't even comparable to what South Park offers with wit and great character development. The Simpsons, though perhaps in a slump, has been consistently clever and has created dozens of distinct characters and memorable plotlines (another thing Family Guy knows little about).
