No we didnt have him, we had morph who was the first work of ardman animations, wallace and grommet, but morph recently died in a factory fire

What ever happened to gumby. He was alright.

I also liked "The Nightmare Before Christmas"

That had music; I don't see gumby doing anythin like that.

I love the really old stop-frame clay animation (think Sinbad the Sailor, Jason and the Argonauts, etc...). Ray Harry Hausen was a god. In many ways I think it was more realistic than computer animation today. Had it been allowed to mature, I'm sure it would have turned into a fabulous animation medium. Alas it was time consuming and costly, so CGI replaced it.

Morph was brill' but Ardman have really hit the jackpot with the "Chicken Run" - type animations.

Sadly they don't use clay any more as it is much easier to do with true graphic animation.

The big-mouth and toothy speech-synchronisation is still there yet as that is pure Ardman !
