About these pharmaceutical companies
realizing that they should address the side effects issues BEFORE releasing it to the public.

You are right. Drug research has a testing, and publishing bias favoring positive results. If fifty trials of a drug are done and three of the studies shows a positive result then that three gets published. The other 47 trials showing negative or non efficacy are less likely to be published. Also, almost all of medicine has risks that can have negative consequences. So there ends up being a trade off between the many that could be helped verses the rare cases that have a bad effect. And in the area of results there is much more accolades for the positive out comes than scorn for the failures. Then there is the money factor. There is no money in taking extended trial periods to prove a new drug. And in this as in many places money talks and b*** s*** walks. So a little (or a lot) of money could change hands to grease the wheels. Fortunately, for the consumer, drug products as well as procedures are all covered with warnings for risks and side effects. These warnings should be carefully considered when using the medical products, procedures and drugs. Often times there may be more natural remedies that could produce satisfactory outcomes. Try improving diet, exercise, physical therapy, and sleep routines. Try change of environment, get some fresh air and some time off from stressful routines. Go on sabbatical. Do your research before taking the pills. And, what I like to say "the side effects are the effects."
