I am currently doing a chapter review in my text book and came across the following question

( True or False, "Sheldon Stryker argued that all social roles inhibit human creativity of behaviors; at the same time, some roles offer more freedom of expresson, innovation, etc. than others" )

I cannot find the answer and i was wondering if somebody can help me out!

I think you should read more of Sheldon's arguments to find your answers

Without knowing the "correct" answer here, I'll stick my neck out and say, as the "roles" we play are, by definition, rule-bound, then if we play by these rules, they in some ways restrict us. And by the same token, assuming we're able to move in and out of roles, we'll be operating by new and different sets of rules which enable expression not allowed in others. Hope this makes sense. It does to me, but that's no recommendation
