One station has Byrd ahead, the other has Lujan ahead. Still to early to call considering the f*** up that is Sandoval county, but it amuses me.

Another pickup for the GOP in the Senate: Cory Gardner defeats Democratic Mark Udall in Colorado.

Big win for the Republicans. This gives them a net gain of 4 seats in the senate. They need 6 seats to take control of the senate.

So far this election has been very close. Brown losing in NH was a blow to the republicans, but they're very competitive in Virginia and North Carolina, and leading big in Georgia. Iowa's results will be coming in soon as well, another important state. Basically, the path to a majority in the senate for them is still clear, all they need to win is 2 more seats.

Yeah lol.

Did you see Susana Martinez won reelection as governor of NM? It wasn't unexpected, but I think the margin might be bigger than people expected. The last polls for this race had her ahead by about 7-8% points, but the race got called earlier than I thought.

Udall hasn't beaten Weh yet, either, although he's ahead.

I gotta hand it to the Independent Greg Orman in Kansas for putting up a good fight, but I think the race is going to slip away from him. Only 36% of the precincts in, but he's down 50-45% after being basically in a tie earlier in the night. I don't think he's going to make up the margin.

Yep. Though the susana thing was not unexpected. King was problematic just like denish. It takes more than just being a party member in this state. And king is certainly NOT his father.

I didn't think wey was ever close though. I could have read that wrong. Pierce should be a shoe in though. Lara? Never seemed to get off the ground campaign wise.

Yeah the Udall/Wey race was never really that close, but the latest poll showed a 7% lead for Udall, in contrast to the double digit lead he had earlier in the year. It was just one poll though, and the republican just isn't a strong enough candidate to beat out Tom Udall. I expected a win of about 7-10% for Udall.

Kasich wins in Ohio for governor. The repubs have a lead in Virginia and North Carolina, but it's very, very close.

Scott Walkers wins as governor in Wisconsin, and quite handily; only 26% of the vote in and he's the projected winner. This was a closely watched race.

Yeah, Udall is generally well liked enough to appeal across party lines. Which will make it harder for any repub ousting him and Wey just seemed problematic all the way around. Incumbent races always have a bunch of other factors than two new people trying for it.

I would have thought that it would have taken longer on the walker race, but oh well.

SPEAKING OF WHICH, Tom Udall the projected winner in New Mexico.

The R's have a lead n North Carolina, Iowa, and Kansas. All close states. Virginia has a lead for the D, but a slight one.

Pat Roberts wins in Kansas! A huge call. Now the republicans have to win only 1 more seat to clinch the senate; they don't have to worry about losing Kansas now, which could've put a damper on their hopes.

Scott Brown refuses to concede in NH, saying that down only 2,000 votes with 78% of the precincts in that there are still lots of votes left to count, many of them from heavily republican areas. His campaign headquarters was buzzing when they showed it a while ago.

He has a point. This is going to be interesting, but I still think he's gonna lose.

Perdue wins in Georgia! With over 50% of the vote.

No waiting two months for a runoff here.

Iowa goes to the Republicans.

That's it. Republicans have 51 seats and now control the U.S Senate.

Ugh, Martinez annoys me so much. It's not even so much the fact of her politics as I just find her to be completely incompetent and totally uncreative.

Yup, me too. There is so much that she just f***ed up, why oh why could the Democrats not elected someone in the primary that had so much baggage.
