Now now calm yourself, now need to get sarky. I'm bored so am offering an alternative viewpoint. I did alright this Christmas actually, I just love my music so I think I shall reply thanks.

I must admit that having thousands of songs is a little pointless. How many of them do you actually listen to?

My wife has about 500 CDs. I think 90% have sat there unplayed for the last 5 years.
I have about 30 or 40 and there are 6 different CDs in my car every few days.

So what.... I should delete my old songs?
I have nearly a terrabyte of free space on my computer in total so where's the advantage in that?

how many do I actually listen to? about 70% so far. for some reason, I enjoy having good music that I've not yet listened to. its like having still-wrapped presents, just hanging around waiting to be opened.

I get rid of any CDs I no longer like, because you won't always like the same music, and to me it's pointless having it if you don't reaaly listen to it. For instance, I really liked the veiw at first, and the gossip. I brought their albums and listened to them for a couple of weeks. Grew very old very quickly and both ended up at a boot sale.

I dont even buy music anymore. I just order whatever I like from my friendly neighborhood library. of course, the folks at my friendly neighborhood library are starting to get a bit sick of me, but thats neither here nor there.

I think that's part of the reason why MP3s are so popular now. If you grow tired of a song or an album you can just delete them instantly, whereas with CD's you have to make the extra effort to sell them or get rid of them.

I know, the thing is if I start doing downloads I'll end up spending an abseloute fortune on music!

iTunes files? like .AAC?
it's virtually the same, but a different compression method.
