Witnesses came to the door today and left me a brochure. I'm never mean to them because I'm starting to understand that there are sadly and actually a number of stupid people out there that need people to come to their porch and baby sit them but I've always known the answer to this one.

So I want to ask you all...

WHY DO people do bad things?

A. Treacherous, magical, mind-controlling trickery.

B. Sheer unfiltered stupidity, ignorance, laziness, righteous assumption and improper use of logics and materials in one's environment.

I think they do it because they just can't help themselves..or are too stupid literally, to channel their energies in positive, and productive ways. OR, they are sociopaths, and are void of normal awareness.

The Truth is, it's this monetary system and corrupt economy set up by the government and for the government, to create scarcity and force it on people so that they will compete with one another for survival. Criminal activity among people is usually out of need whereas criminal activity among corporations and government are usually the most heinous. That's why there's the Zeitgeist Movement dedicated to abolishing this obsolete and counter productive system of capitalism and economics and making the planets recourses available to everyone.

Today?s self interested, money oriented society creates an environment that refuses to allow for the
universal caring of another. This system is based on the perpetuation of oneself, at the expense of
others , and therefore it can never allow for a world of balance and harmony.-zm

While
there are endless scientific and superstitious opinions about who we are and where we have come
from, the most important issue at hand exists in the here and now. In view of the terrible suffering
and questionable future of the human race, worrying about if god created the universe?or if we were
created by extraterrestrials?or even if we are a product of evolution and celestial matter, is
meaningless .-zm

Check out the movement sometime and join it.

There are probably way too many motivations for it to respond in any one canned answer.

Greed, stupidity, ignorance, lust, power hungry and so on and so on. LOL

My understanding is that we have an id and ego and a superego. The id does whatever it thinks will ensure its survival and we are rewarded with pleasure for survival behaviors. The superego looks at others before commiting to a behavior. The superego is strengthened by religions like Christianity by promising a reward greater than the selfish behavior reward. The ego has your self image and if you harm someone and your super ego (angel on your shoulder vs id-devil on your shoulder, or conscience?)makes you feel bad about it your ego will have to know it won't repeat the behavior, or blame someone else (not take responcibility), justify, or embrace the behavior and become a monster possibly. When your brain has 2 opposing pieces of info (I am a good person vs I just beat my dog) it is called cognative dissonance and sooner or if pushed out of your mind without a solution then later it will come out (subconscious) and a confusing misunderstanding will happen again. I have read that guilt wil make you repeat the behavior also. Unless you feel loved and your life is perfect in a way homo sapiens need (I don't know what exactly)safe and secure maybe, your id will want selfish things.I think the superego offers more of a reward normally for adults because strength in numbers or to motivate to protect the family. We get pleasure to do survival behaviors, influenced by the brain by thoughts and feelings to do them (drugs), sometimes competely controlled by the subconscious. Imagning bad behavior works as well as actually doing them I have found and psychologists have agreed with me. Another explaination is the frustration-aggression hypothesis, part of the social learning theory of aggression. Here all aggression comes from frustration and all frustration leads to aggression. Some aggression is socially acceptable we find as children when we face the conflict between the superego and the instinct to be aggressive our superego will accept the aggressive behavior because its ok to other people. After frustration occours (when a goal is blocked) we usually target our aggression at the person (animals, babies, everyone)who is less likely to retaliate. For instance they can't take it out on their boss so they stuff it until they get home and hurt the ones they love. Then thinking of their behavior subjectively they imagine a reality that is untrue and a world of lies open to them like "she (wife) pushed me to it by whatever" instead of "my boss denied my raise, so I changed my goal, or I imagined punching him, or some other trick to satisfy his brains need to be aggressive so it can have the emotion neccessary to cause behaviors neccessary to take that piece of meat (goal) from the animal that is standing in the way (blocking.)Our behaviors are just cause and effect.

Tell a 4 year old he can't have/do something, and he'll just keep repeating over and over, "but I want it/to". If that urge, doing what we want without regard for the rights of others, isn't harnessed with some respect for those rights, what they "want to do" when they grow up will be evil.

Different values in many cases. What one person sees as a bad thing another sees as perfectly okay.

Sorry, but you have free will, so he can't make you do anything, even if he existed, which he doesn't.

And if you're gonna claim you don't have free will, then you're just dancing on that hand up your puppet butt.
