A little rant...

Something I am finding increasingly annoying with every passing day (aside from double posting), is the extremely, unnecessary, over kill amount of smilies used in a post. Is it really necessary to put 10 damn hugging smilies in a row? One should suffice. Really, what is the point of having so many of the same smiley in a row? Is it suppose to make it mean more? Does it stress the hug or smile or whatever more? I don't think so. I think one hug, or one of whatever smiley it is you are using, is plenty. Anything more is just really irritating to look at and is just stupid to me.

Is there a problem with this?

That's pretty cute. No that one is not a problem. My problem is with excessive use of the same smilies over and over and over.

I know what you mean, I am not a huge smiley fan, I mean sometimes I use a few, but I try to limit myself in them and only use one. And yes multiple hugs are the worst. I men sometimes they are needed for clarity, but I try not to over use them, just because they are there.

Though, after a while I just got used to skimming around here, so i try not to let it bother me, but I do admit if there are a lot of smileys in a post I don't pay much attention to it. Try not to let ie bother you too much, as we can only control our own actions, but there are others out there like you.

I too tend to skip over posts that are majority smilies. There could be a great post under all that clutter, but it won't be seen by me as the smilies will overshadow the actual context of the post.

I wouldn't normally let it bother me, but I've noticed that smiley overkill has been getting worse lately. I was going to read a thread earlier, but all I saw was post after post by various users that had like ten hug smilies in a row. I couldn't even tell you what the thread was about now since I was turned off by the smiley explosion.

Ah well. I think I shall call it a night on here and go get something to eat. I'm hungry! Good night everyone.
