Sarge and LT
WE Were so different you and I. You came from wealth and class. I came up the hard way fought for everything. When we meet I was a new a*****e Lt. You were the proven Staff Sargent warrior. You took your time allow me to grow as a leader. Never saying anything in front of the men. You would wait till later when I asked then you let me have it.
Then one day your little sister came to visit. I was a player she was not. You and others laughed when she said it me and no one else. For the first time in my life I ran after a woman When I told you I was in love with her you laughed "hell I know that for some time"
The day of our wedding you stood beside me. Before she came down the aisle you hugged am and whispered these words " You hurt my baby sister I WILL kill you" .
Why were you shoveling your drive. I know Parkinson's was a b**** but you were still the warrior you have alway been you could have called me. You had nothing to prove.
No longer will it be Sarge and Lt.
The older I get the lonelier it becomes.
