Their visit from germany to the uk Hi folks ive not been on the forum for a while as ive been realy busy ,i went to germany to visit a friend that i met on this site, and recently she and her husband came to the uk for 7 days to my home town.I realy wanted them to see as much of britain as possible ,so the first day i took them to our museums, where they could make their own clay vase thown by hand as in the old days, and then for a meal at my daughters home. The next day we went to chester to see the old thatched roofed houses , then at the evening out for a curry. The following day we went by national coaches to london that was 200 miles away, they went on a cruise down the themes, and to see the tower of london, buckingham palace and big ben. Then the follownig day we went by rail to blackpool, where her hubby said he would love to live . they went to the wax works to see peter andrea, the queen mother ,and other famous people.i would just like to say that i have found a genuine friend that i keep in touch with every week ,and visit one another as much as possible from tfs | |

| when we were in chester, there was a fashion show held on a float in the town centre, years ago we would go on a long boat on the river and stop at a cafe that made scones with fresh cream in them ,when i took rosie to gladstone museum i made my own clay pot, thrown by hand,as in ghost, even though i had worked in the the industry for 45 years, and was experienced in the clay ,biscuit, glost and enamal departments ,i had never thrown a pot before and found it was a great experience |

| So, what you are saying is, throwing a pot is as easy as baking a cake!
Tell Rosie I said, Hi! She's not on here much, anymore... |

| no throwing a pot is realy hard to do ,as you have to keep the clay wet and you have to push your thumbs down at the centre to hollow the clay pot ,and then you need to bring the sides up with you fingers and thumbs to give shape,i must admit my clay pot when finished looked realy good, when i have time i will put a picture of it on here, not likethe one in ghostlol |
