the doorbell rang.... or did it???

every time i listen to music or read or do somthing i always hear the doorbell ring, but it doesn't even actually ring. (does that make sense) like i'll hear it ring and go to answer the door, then everyone in my family is like 'wtf are you doing, no one is here'
and im like 'but didnt the dorrbell ring?' and they are like 'umm no'

grrrrr its so annoying! i swear the doorbell just rang like 5 minutes ago, but no one eles herd it and no one was at the door!!!!!

does this happen to anyone eles? or am i just f***ed up???
