ok, don't know if i posted it, but the 9600XT died days after I got it, so that got returned. I don't want to bother with AGP on my systems again as that was just too disappointing. I had a GeForce MX4000 64MB that worked great for about a year and a half, until bryan spilled a drink on it the other day. so I want a PCI card, I know they're slower and all, but I only need it for the reliability of PCI video, not so much power, but I do need some power too! my current mainboard is an ATi, so that might affect it with driver conflicts if it's an Nvidia, I wouldn't know, I've never tried installing Nvidia and ATI together on a system. the other two systems have jetway, so for those two it won't be a problem with the manufacturer, and the other two have VIA mainboards, so shouldn't have any conflicts there.

Ok, that post would've been relevant 13 months before you posted it... And that advice wouldn't have helped anyways, newegg's always been a source for me.

In the end I won a 9800XT off a guy for $12 who thought it was broken. AGP was just terrible with hardware conflicts.

but these days there's nothing to worry about with PCI express
