No, you can't. The cheapest Mac with an upgradeable graphics card is $2800.

Besides, you don't need a Dell or Gateway to have a PC. A computer you build yourself is functionally identical to a Dell or Gateway.

To legally have a machine that runs OS X, you need to purchase a Mac.

to an extent.
but generally apple doesn't make it easy, yanno soldering GPU's makes things a little bit difficult.

The iMac and Mac Mini are essentially notebook PCs. You can't add hard drives, upgrade the optical drives, upgrade the graphics card. You can't upgrade or change your monitor on the iMac, and you can't use multiple monitors with the Mac Mini.

The Mac Pro is the only true desktop computer in the Apple lineup, and it starts at $2800.
