You won't find many people (even many educated people) smarter than ol Colbert!

https://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/413074/april-23-2012/don-mcleroy

And here is a review of the segment.

"In April 2012 Don McLeroy, a dentist from Bryan, Texas, appeared as a guest on The Colbert Report to talk about textbooks, evolution, and the nature of reality. McLeroy is famous for pushing creationism as the chairman of the Texas State Board of Education, and the highlight of the interview comes when Colbert quizzes McLeroy about paleontology. “Human beings and dinosaurs walked side by side?” Colbert asks. McLeroy looks uncomfortable. “That’s my personal view,” he replies, and then Colbert pounces: “That’s your personal scientific view.” McLeroy agrees. “Science,” Colbert concludes, “can be a personal choice.” At the end of the interview, the host expands on that point. “I’ve always been a fan of reality by majority vote,” he says before shaking McLeroy’s hand."

I don't know about most of the religious and I don't adhere to any organized spiritualism but the following pretty much sums up my understanding:

"Johnson and other intelligent design advocates argue that, rather than religious people with a mission, they are scientific revolutionaries, boxed out by a politically-charged, biased community."

I would add that the 'Boxing-Out" is partially in favor of the greedy who benefit from current governmental templates chock full of strings and dials for fine tuning.

And should also add that the constant struggle to maintain school-taught reality keeps most from getting lost.

I also am a scientific revolutionary.

However, the politically-charged and biased community of scientists refuse to accept my belief that the world is flat and that flight is impossible.

Me too.

We should all vote on both science and religion.

The majority will determine what scientific theories we believe and which god/religion is the right one.

Then, whatever the majority agrees on will be taught in school and posted in all public places.

Of course, since many (if not most) fundamentalists don'd consider Catholics and Mormons to be christians, that would most likely put the Muslims on top... praise Alla and sharia law...

Well.....to quote Jesus in the song "Clint Eastwood": "Just remember *whispers* that it's all in your head!"

So most science and religion tends to be bulls*** vs bulls***.

I honestly don't feel it important either way - The world being made intentionally or made accidentally.

The only reason such specifics are ever challenged is that we find ourselves stuck here, without consent, and no easy way out and then pitted again myriads of horrendously stupid laws, snopes, stigmas and taboos as to how 'real' men are meant to handle themselves.

Can I opt for a change to the thread title?

It depends which arena we're discussing. My vote for Creationism gets Phillip E. Johnson.

But, isn't Colbert just a satirist?
