The last couple of days I get this message

"There appears to be a problem with the database server. Please try again later." Also sometimes when replying to a topic it takes 3 minutes to load. Are you having and issues?

Yes, same here.

It happens to me at random and frequent intervals...if it's a constant for you, you might want to try and clean your browser's cache.

I'm working on blocking all the pointless bots/crawlers that access TFS to hopefully cut down on this.

For some reason MSNbot is grabbing pages from my various sites WAY faster than it is supposed to

Things are back to loading at lightening speed; no server problems thus far. (been online for about an hour) I'm glad I remembered this thread and came back to check. I was anticipating things getting frustrating again but I think it's going to be okay now. Will let you know if it starts acting up again.

The month of October 2010 saw the official retirement of MSNbot and its replacement by Bingbot It's just as annoying to web pages as MSNbot was.

So, doesn't Bingbot have a static IP address that you could block? Or does it reside in "The Cloud"?

Well it has a lot of IP addresses and I don't want to block it, just slow it down.

Did you click on the hyperlink Bingbot ? It says that you can request to block it.

By the way, TFS is responding much faster now.

I did a robots.txt entry to restrict its speed, I guess it's just taken a while to check it.
