Has anyone else been to see the Lion King in 3D at the cinemas?

I saw it today - it was amazing I normally hate 3D films as I think it's just a silly gimmick but the 3D was really good.

I hope they do this to more Disney films - I will go and see them all.

(Also - would anyone else like to own up to crying? Just me? It gets me every time )

Four of Disney's Finest Coming in 3D

Thanks to the recent success of "The Lion King 3D" (now rated as one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time), Walt Disney Studios just announced that four classic films will return to theaters in 2012 and 2013.

Nostalgic fans as well as a brand-new audience will be delighted to see these timeless stories on the big screen ... but this time with an all-new, 3D twist.

With a new year right around the corner, mark your calendars now -- you won't want to miss these limited theatrical engagements:

• "Beauty and the Beast" – January 13, 2012
• Disney•Pixar’s "Finding Nemo" – September 14, 2012
• Disney•Pixar’s "Monsters, Inc." – January 18, 2013 ("Monsters University," a prequel to the original film, arrives in theaters in Disney Digital 3D on June 21, 2013)
• "The Little Mermaid" – September 13, 2013"

Hurray!!!

I saw it, loved it, cried. It melts my heart every time. I get so mad at Scar. I thought it was amazing in 3D not at all like I expected.
I also saw it with the friend I saw it with when it came out in theaters in '94. This time it was her and I and her daughter. I feel so old

I heard they were doing Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid in 3D as well. That might be a rumor though.

I'm so glad it's not just me that cries My friend and I didn't even make it through "The Circle of Life" without crying at all the childhood memories.

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm going to. I'm usually right with ya on that 3-d thing-- it just looks too fake yet; you can see just where they pulled one part of the image forward like there's an outline. It's just annoying and distracting.

It looks to go really well with the old style cartoon movies though. It'll be the first time that I actually want to see a movie in 3-d.

I really want to go and see it but I'm not too sure if any of my mates would want to.

I'll definitely have to go and see Beauty and the Beast 3D, that's my favourite and I think I'll have people to go with.
