Gary McKinnon is not the "Biggest Military Hacker of All Time" "Using his own computer at home in London, McKinnon hacked into 97 computers belonging to and used by the U.S. government between February 2001 and March 2002."

only 97 computers.

this guy is an amature compare to c0mrade (who accessed the space station and various NASA satellites...in additon to the u.s. military), ne0h (who basically owned the u.s. army's network for 10 days!) and others...

U.S. Attorney McNulty was just talking BS to get publicity.

as for Kevin Mitnick, a great "social engineer" not a very good hacker.

and "U.S. security systems"...what BS. while all U.S. government computers are supposed to be "secured" the term "security systems" implies "top secret" computers..."Solo" did not hack into the secret portion of the U.S. Goverment's computers...if he did it certainly would not be in the news!!!

I guess this is a difficult one. 70 year sentence seems severe but if he is closing down military systems then he is putting millions of lives at risk.

I for one find it worrying how easy it was for him to hack into U.S security.

Aliens or not,a non password protected security system!? That is a pretty big lapse of judgement on someones part.

Why is it nonsense? Why should we be the only life form in the galaxy? If there is life out there, then there is a possibility, however unlikely, that they might of come here. It would be small minded of us to think we are alone in the galaxy, considering there are billions of suns, with orbiting planets. Might life be on 1 or more of those planets?

the possibility of life on other planets should not be confused with the possibility of
1)intelligent life
2)intelligent life that has the ability to travel to earth, or construct something which has.
3)that they have landed on earth and the government has obtained their technology and is secretly keeping or using this technology.

also here's a thought,
its said alot that considering the infinite size of the universe and billions of planets within, surely its a statisital probability that aliens are hanging around somewhere and have the ability to get to earth?

thats a reasonable thought in a way, but could it not be likely that they will never be able to reach us since they are limited by the same laws of physics as us.
also if the probability is so likely then what is the probability that their arrival coincides with the emergence of science-fiction and the idea of space travel among the public conciousness?

It's still a possibility. I can't see why people can't, or rather wont
accept this. The Earth is relatively young compared to the rest of the galaxy, so scientists say. So why can't an advanced race come here out of interest, and make contact? There have been millions of UFO sightings. Was all of them imagination, or lies? I think not.
