Not really. Support after the historic election and Bush caused great recession did drop but he has been fairly level since 2009.

Romney is really going to have to separate himself from not only Obama but his own past if he has a chance to overtake a sitting president. Barring a downturn in the american economy or a worldwide collapse of some countries economies the odds are in Obama's favor.
