i've been writing poems since i was 11. here's a few of them -

The sun gives a final bow,
Smiling onto the golden fruits of Autumn,
Nestled in a cloud for a long, long sleep,
It reminded me of the months gone by,
The trees that shone orange once were green,
The flowers were once where they are now not.

The flames that grew angry around them
The screams that disturbed the night
The sound of the distant army
Coming to take the people to their death
The planes that swoop overhead
Like vultures with metal wings
The soldiers that see no evil in their actions
And see no fear in the people's eyes
This is the city, a proud city, of Baghdad
And a lie will kill them all.

The murals of the martyred dead
The lines that divide them all
The words that hurt like bullets
The flag of green, white and orange does not
Fly over these Occupied Six
Instead the flag of the Union Jack
Rules over this tragic land
Yet the Irish of the Northern Six
Forever have fire in their hearts
This struggle of theirs is a just one
And their struggle shall go on
Until the last of the monarchists are gone
And the bullets scream no more
Ireland will be united once more
With a flag of green and white and orange
Flying over all 32 of them all.

In the final hours of the bloodied death
The screams of those who bowed to money went
Their bodies hung slowly from the branches of trees
The songs of the people flowed through the air
The blood-red flags flew to their lyrics
And the people threw off their chains and sang
For they were free, and this was 1917 forever.

The sight of the skies
The romance of the dying light of a candle
The sweetness of the flowers
The meow of every last cat, moggy, puss and kitten
All the leaves of all the trees
The song of the mysterious whale
The smile of the happiest
And the laughter of the tickliest
The freedom of the unshackled people
The colour of deep scarlet flags
The end of the world as we so sadly know it
And the beginning of our new time

A poem that knew not the warmth of love
A poem that felt not the kindness of the sun
A poem that darkened and aged
A poem left alone in a wooden cage
This poem that noone will read
This poem that noone will see
A written song that nobody sung
For it was the words of the oppressed
And noone sang those words.

A poem for the ages,
A poem for the masses,
Sung, read, said aloud,
A poem of thought,
A poem of emotion,
A fruit from the ancient old oak,
A bloom from the mythical Eden,
Words that come from my lips,
Go to your heart,
Like a gift from me to you.

This is a test verse,
Please remain calm whilst you devour,
Half a cow named McDonald's,
This is a test verse,
A message, please, to remain calm,
All those who are walking adverts,
Reeboks to Addidas to Nikes,
This is a test verse,
Calm is good,
When you vote for the person
Who will screw you the least,
This is a test verse,
Be calm like the timid sea,
And pray to your God,
Didnt you get the message - God is dead,
This is a test verse,
Calm and peaceful,
Freedom is not the right to remain oppressed,
This is a test verse,
For the last time calm down,
For no normal service will be resumed,
After any revolutionary occurance,
This is a test verse,
Please remain calm.

You sit there, growing fat and old,
Drowning in Coke,
Choking on McDonalds and Burger King,
You are not your own master,
In this Capitalist Nation.
You sit there,
Think women are whores,
And black people ciminals,
Giving them labels not like your own,
But whilst your discriminatory diction comes,
In this Capitalist Nation,
You see no truth,
You hear no dissent.

The land shakes with the deathly roar
The lushness is burnt into barren waste
Trees like towers fall as the death wails past
The clouds anger and weep
The sun flees the inevitable end
Silence falls and the quiet is not welcome
For the monster still hunts
And the monster still kills
And the people wake to see the desolation
Its Vietnam. 1965.
And the Yanks have scorched the earth.

How does one so young have such insight and forsight in their poetry? I believe you must have been thru some things in your young life that most people do not have any idea of. You have a powerful writing ability. Hope you don't loose it. It really is awesome. I enjoyed all of it and it had some deep thoughts for me.

Wow! You have a surprisingly broad range of subjects, and the poems are brilliant! I like the style, and they touch my heart. Congratulations!
