Just using the screws that came with the bracket. I'm completely broke at the moment so can't really afford to buy any tools.

I don't actually need to put the bracket up, but being bored, unemployed and alone at the moment I thought I'd try and do something productive.

Might try and take off the fire safety thing on the door that makes it close automatically instead, that things been bugging me since I moved in.

I wouldn't you'll get in lots of trouble with the landlord as legally he'll have to have on if you're in halls/student residence.

What is the screw for?

Is there any other way you can hang this thing, cause you said you couldn't afford a drill, so I assume bying those hanging things are out too...would maybe thumbs tacs work, they are cheap.

oh dude, this is painful.

I'd send you my old drill, but the charger has a US plug, so it still wouldn't do you any good.

Unfortunately you've not made my Christmas list, or I'd put you down for one

Managed to fix the bracket to a different wall. Now I just need to get it fixed to the wall I want it fixed to. I'm pretty sure one of my mates has tools so I'm gonna try and borrow some off of him.

Will take off the fire door thing too whilst i'm at it. We already failed our fire inspection so its not like it matters.

Get the hole started by hammering the screw in the wall a little until it bites, then use your knife to screw it all the way in..

Good call lilbear, that is what I was going to type.

Minus the word "bites", that was more theatrical then my version. 8)
