Movie Review - Jack and Jill - 2 Stars

Adam Sandler seems to have taken a back step with this one. Pretty ambitious, in playing both the female and male lead in this comedy, he goes the route of Eddie Murphy in sticking to low-brow humor with these subversive multiple roles. Plenty of gags, sex jokes, and sophmoric humor reside in this film about fraternal twins, pretty much putting to waste all of Sandler's comedic talent. Sure, there are laugh out loud moments, particularly involving Al Pacino in a hilarious self-parody, but they aren't enough to save a film with very little comedic substance otherwise, let alone much of anything else.

There really isn't much anymore to save the entirety of Blockbuster.

I can't believe that I actually sat through a lot of the movies that I did.

And now that I can easily single out and recognize all propositional, esoteric, conspiracy suggestions in films and music......Donnie Darko still doesn't make any sense.

Sandler? Comedic talent? Surely you jest

He has it, it is just often wasted - such is the nature of these moneymaking comedy films.

I have liked some of his more recent films, where he applies his sense of humor to movies with a more serious or deep topic, such as Click and 50 first dates. I thought this movie was a step backward for him.
