How many people celebrated by watching the rising sun in the East to honor the Sun-God Baal?

We did!

Nah, really we didn't. We spent the morning looking for where that tricky easter bunny hid the kid's basket, just like all those other ignorant people of the world today who honor the traditions that were just stolen from older holidays.

We watched Hop too. Lol. It was pretty cute.

Spent the morning sleeping. The kids are at my in-laws this Easter. They get to deal with the chocolate overload this year!

I just watched the sun set, does that count? Been working in the yard all day, so now it's time for shrimp and beer and pasta.

I saw a bit of the sunrise as I stayed up stupidly late. Was too tired to really enjoy t though. I usually try and see in summer solstice though.

The BBC is celebrating my town today..

100 years of cherry blossoms

Aren't you a couple of weeks too late? Spring Equinox was in March.

The cherry blossoms were a couple of weeks early, but BBC still chose to celebrate them today, even though they've passed..

If the BBC can be a couple of weeks late, then why can't we?

Duh. Easter isn't a Christian holiday either. It was originally the Pagan celebration to honor the rebirth of the sun after the long nights of winter. The Christians decided, for whatever reason, that their celebration of the "resurrection" of Jesus should take place on the Sunday after the first full moon after the Equinox.

Spring Equinox sounds pretty cool instead of Easter. Anyways, Happy Easter everyone.
