Festival Season

And as usual I'm not going. Glastonbury's only a few miles down the road, damnitall, and I want to go!! Never mind, I'll sit glued to the tv and radio and ONE day I'll get to go somewhere.

I really don't see the attraction of standing up to my knees in mud, surrounded by people smoking weed and with the toilets at the end of a long queue and filthy.

I hope you aint taking up sales as a career, babe.

I think the attraction for me is, apart from the music, I've never done it, whereas my husband has been to every festival in the country. Having said that, I'm a great one for camping and living outdoors so if there's mud and a lack of toilets, I'll cope somehow.

Did Reading once, good experience. Their seems more festivals now than ever before. Lovebox looks decent this year!

I guess the rain, the mud and portal loo's are part and parcel of the festival scene, especially Glastonbury, none the less i'd rather do a day at a festival and go home at the end of it.

I love festivals, unfortunately money is tight so I doubt I'll go to T in the Park this year, and the line-up is terrible. Going to the Wicker Man festival and thinking of going to a folk festival they have in the borders.

There always seems to be plenty of on offer at folk festivals.

David did Reading in the 70s some time but he can't remember much about it. I'd just love to get all muddied up and have a few days away from home listening to music. My daughter went to Glastonbury a couple of years back and loved it (all 13-years-old of her, at the time).



Sounds good to me. I've never been to Scotland and the Wicker Man sounds brilliant. I'd like to get to a couple of folk ones, too. There are a couple of good ones here in the West Country so I've got no excuse but lack of money.

Ive been to some raves. Not quite as classy as Glastonbury lol. Im not sure I fancy having to wear wellies.

We have one coming up in June called "Bonaroo", Dave Matthews Band is the headliner. Last year Sting was here. 3 day event about 20 miles from my house.

I love music, but it's always going to sound better in an acoustically designed arena than it is in a field and you also get the advantage of being warm, dry and clean.

You can get wellies for any purpose. But anyway, back to music: you're right about music sounding better through big quadrupedically enhanced speakers, but I love being outdoors and I love getting pissed and muddy with other people. Still a kid at heart.
