Well they are at a virtual tie in the polls now, as far as the national popular vote is concerned, however Obama is way ahead on the electoral college projection, which is what really matters.

I spent a lot of time in Fairbanks, and I know the people there have inherent problems when they go out during the solstice. They can actually see things clearly with 20 hours of sunlight a day but go into denial. They stand there just staring at the Sun, not knowing what to make of all that liquid water while the mosquitoes suck them dry. The brain is the second thing to go.

I actually know a lot of people that support Mitt Romney. Almost everyone at work does and main reason is because they are unhappy with the Obama Administration and he is the next best choice.

The only answer I ever hear - including from my conservative boss - from Romney supporters is "he's not Obama".

Which is highly ridiculous.

But that's not surprising considering that a lot of conservatives seem to eschew logic and science. Which is a shame. There's actually some things to be said for the conservative (traditional, not neo) ideology.
