Mission Impossible
Ana Torres 36, of Manteca California had an interesting idea of shaving her head bald not for self gain but to help out other Multiple Sclerosis patients in New Orleans, Louisiana MS Society Chapter.
Her idea is going to be a whole yr of advertisement being bald with a company logo on it. She has a lot of emails from a lot of Multiple Sclerosis patients that is in 100% in support of her idea. Her idea made headlines on www.hurricanehope.com.
She is doing this to salvage hope and regain some self esteem back to Multiple Sclerosis patients. Give them back what they have lost. Of at least a jump start from the MS Society to provide them help what they are in need of.
Ana Torres is not in this for self gain, she her self has Multiple Sclerosis for over 11yrs and knows how hard it is. She was blind for 2 whole yrs in one eye when she was confirmed to have MS. She has been thru her own battles. MS telethon is an idea she wants all to help in whether you are small company, big one, or just want to help. She is in this to help others like her with Multiple Sclerosis.
A lot of organizations are interested in her idea of her MS Telethon that she is trying to put together. Now if her being disabled and having MS herself. Which she is ok with but she needs more help in this venture. She would be promoting her cause and MS awareness with the added bonus of the company she will have on her head as a tattoo for Life as long as she keeps it bald. But hair grows back and she is even willing to keep it longer for the right company. More or less one yr is what she is going for. If her hair qualifies for "locks of Love" it will be donated to them as well. Another worthy cause.
Now she had been trying to get media attention on her MS awareness website www.mstelethon.org and she has a forum for information and questions. This is www.ms-forumsite.com.
The MS Society chapter in Oakland and San Jose California has contacted her and love her idea and is currently working ways to get it in progress. But with this is just her doing it, she is more or less alone in this venture.
She is hoping this will increase her chances of promoting her MS telethon.
MS Society and Peter from website www.hurricanehope.com have had nothing but support. Her goal is to make it a yearly event like Jerry Lewis MD telethon.
And she has received emails from all over the states and from MS patients in New Orleans. Now she is just trying to help to donate in a unique way. She isn't rich but has a home to go to unlike the folks in New Orleans. Having a normal set life, means so much to all who been affected it isn't right that were ignored at the last minute when it could of been prevented.
Her goal is to get the word out on this to help Multiple Sclerosis Patients in New Orleans from hurricane Katrina. This hurricane Katrina has changed so many lives of people from a regular life to an abnormal one. Only she is hoping to get more to donate and whom ever she represent will be big media news and be looked upon as helping more Katrina victims to get back to a normal life.
So if you are interested in her idea, her she will only relist it if she gets emails from people who want to bid. Only serious bidders or supporters.
She isn't trying to get bad media, but just making the public aware of how bad MS patients were affected and many other disabled people, Ana herself is disable and in a wheelchair.
She just wants to make a difference and wants the media to help in getting the word out to the TV producers and stars, entertainment industry. To put this on the map as another yearly event like, National MS walk-a-thon and many other events. She is trying to get this idea and is serious about getting her idea and promotions. She is asking the public for help. In this venture, please contact her for more details.
She will sign a wavier to the company who will be promoting her and she has permission to do this by her Doctors. So there is no risk involved to the company. She is very serious about this and will go thru this, so there will be no backing out. She says sometimes you have to do something unique to get the message across. She has been in the media before, so she isn't worry about the stares and looks she will get, it is for a cause.
Multiple Sclerosis can affect not only the individual but family and friends. It is a silent illness that is rarely talked about. Montel Williams, Terri Garr just to name a few are affected by this illness. We are so close to a cure but it seems it will be yrs before it will be a reality. And too late for the people who currently have it and are too far into the illness. All we have is hope. That a cure is near soon. Ana says it is a, mission impossible quest for Multiple Sclerosis to get awareness to the public.
