Does it bother anyone that oil companies are celebrating record profits while many of us struggle with rediculous fuel prices. What if we collectively boycotted certain oil companies until they lowered their price and then buy exclusively from them until other companies followed suit. For example don't buy any gas from: Chevron/Texaco, Exxon/Mobil, Marathon ? which operates Ashland and Speedway SuperAmerica-branded gasoline stations ? and Valero, which operates Beacon, Diamond Shamrock, Total, and Ultramar stations. These are also some of the biggest importers of middle east oil. This may be implausible for reasons I haven't considered. I would like to hear your thoughts. I am sure that complaining as individuals will accomplish nothing.

Those may be many peoples only options if the current price trend continues. The oil companies can set prices at any level they choose. The only way I can see to conquer this reality is by dividing the companies through selective consumption.

I agree with all that. But it still doesn't change the fact we are being gouged by big oil companies or what we can do about it.
