Mine waited for the surprise, it seemed more fun that way. Rotten birth though, first child, 12 hours and he was simply too big, they had to open her up in the end, but once he was there none of that mattered in the least!

I did that for his dad, uncle and auntie, my responsibility ends there.
His father missed a totally Aussie birth by seconds , literally, I had a Holden Sandman and we barely made it to the hospital in time, I delivered him unassisted in the foyer, right beside the reception desk! By the time the maternity staff arrived I was holding him, fast births are a family trademark by and large.

No bill for that one but the next was similar. With my daughter we made it into the birthing room and the quack assured us it was hours away, but as soon as we were alone, whizz bang, there she was. I had to yell loudly for a few minutes after to attract attention too, lol. Once we were home I was sent a bill for hundreds! Being somewhat deliriously happy at the time I merely printed out and sent them a similar bill for my sub-contracted services, so to speak, for their total plus $10.
I never heard from them again, lucky for them.
My G'son was a C-section in the end, he was simply TOO big for his first-time Mum to cope with, although she tried for many hours first before giving in.

Doesn't matter how bad off you think you are,there's always someone in a worse condition.
