Yes we did somewhat hijack the thread- a rant about my own future MIL is not possible as we have not met yet. This is a situation we are to rectify (hopefully soon) but I am quite nervous- any tips as to how to make a good impression?

What is there to be nervous about? If he steps out of line, you slug him with a rolling-pin. Make that clear to his mother, and she will love you forever! Just be yourself, and it would be damned near impossible for anyone to not love you. I can sense that, from way over here...

he wouldnt step out of line so we should be good hopefully! I do hope she will love me, it is my turn to take over the role of looking after him!
