Oil prices and the economy

This is a pretty good video, even if just for the background info.

Pretty good. I don't think it makes a strong enough case for the fact that although there may still be the majority of oil left- it cannot possibly get us as far as the amount used. We will burn through it in short time. We MUST switch the economic engine. President Obama, hell Carter were right about this!

The video doesn't address the issue of the American government's failure at regulating the value of the American dollar (which massively influences the Euro) and causing its value to decrease which in turn increases the amount needed for oil (as well as every other commodity, i.e. inflation).

So no matter how much oil we do or do not need, a depreciating-value currency is not helping.

Well the deflation we recently experienced must have been great. We should have continued that.
