Ok so let's say they pin him with 'negligence' and they place him in a cell with Bowling Ball Bag Bob for a few nights.

Did anyone gain or learn anything from this? Did he - I mean other than whatever Bob may have been preaching to him in that cell?

i think i would be negligent.
i think the sarge hurts from this.
just like any parent or caregiver would.
we just gotta be carefull it doesn't get used to cover a crime.
i see no crime that makes me think jail here.

cops don't do good in jail.
in a way, it could be cruel and unusual punishment.
from what i've read.
he was well trained.
just as a parent that does something like this, is different then the one that goes to shop with a kid or animal in the car, truck, suv...

was the sarge at fault, yep.
should it totaly screw his life, no.
should he sue because he got arrested, i'd like to know why it all dates back to 07.

Jail would serve no purpose. A parent would beat themselves senseless for the rest of their lives anyway.

in cases like that, yes. parent does not belong in jail.
