Except for a quirk of fate, I might have been Brazilian because my grandfather says that his father worked in Brazil for a few years after World War II.

Brazil, the land of cane, coffee, carnival, and recently even capitalism. Brazil makes airplanes and is the birthplace of Alberto Santos-Dumont, who flew an aircraft (if a blimp is an aircraft) around Jules Vern and HG Wells while they watched from the Eiffel Tower.

Brazil is also the setting of a John Grisham novel (the title of which I have happily forgotten), in which a lawyer follows the trail of Teddy Roosevelt through the Pantanal in search of a client's heir.

I have a box of Band Aids. The label says it was made or at least packaged in Brazil. My guess is that a factory in Xiaoshan, China (suburb of Shanghai) makes the cloth, which gets shipped to Brazil where it becomes a box of bandages, but I have no idea where in Brazil that might be.
