HIDA Scan...

Someone remind me not to ever read about tests they're doing on me EVER again!

I'm having this stupid HIDA scan this afternoon, and since I was curious, I googled and started reading. Now I'm anxious and stressed out and don't want to go

What exactly is a HIDA scan?
Sounds like an acronym for something, but I can't figure it out with my sleep deprived mind.

HIDA = hydroxy iminodiacetic acid

It's to test for gall bladder issues, which I have a lot of symptoms of, but no gall stones.

Ah.. I don't even want to know how they test for that.. I'm assuming that it involves a large needle though.

An IV, some kind of nuclear medication, and an imaging scanner. And apparently results in stomach cramps, pain, and nausea. I really don't want to go now
