So I just finished
House of Leaves about an hour ago. I spent better part of three weeks slowly plodding through it.
Looking back, it is the single most amazing book I've ever read. Everything within it was connected, in one way or another. Every sentence and word was intentional. Every page was a piece of art with little additions like words printed in color, page layouts and even fancy little twirls like inverted writing.
The story itself was so incredibly intricate and well balanced between reality and it's own universe that you found yourself actually believing that it was a recount.
Alongside that, copious amounts of footnotes didn't help you seperating yourself from it's own reality.
Has anyone else read it?
I know one person who has but I don't see him for a week.
What did you all think of it?
