Relationship abuse/violence?

YOU think a girl who would do that is an idiot. I'd say it was someone with issues, but not an idiot. The fact is, some girls (and I am familiar with the feeling) think that somehow it's a big misunderstanding. If I can possibly get this guy to understand that I'm not slutty, maybe he won't be so angry. He things I'm weak, maybe if I can show him I'm strong, he'll respect me and be nicer to me. Some have to learn the hard way that there's no winning that one. You can't earn the respect of an abuser, it's just not possible. If I called you an idiot for thinking that way, I'd have to call myself an idiot, at least when I was younger, because I used to think that way. That's why that relationship I was in went on for 2 years. Not because I couldn't physically get out the door, but because I was constantly trying fix "misunderstandings". I wanted to leave having just put him in *his* place for once, leave him standing there, feeling like a total dumb a** for ever talking to me like that. It never happened, but it took 2 years for me to figure that out.
