Subcultures in the Philippines

Does anyone know of any weird or unusual subcultures in the Philippines? Freaky characters, weird rituals, seedy parties, anything shocking... it's research for a TV show. Any thoughts appreciated

that thing some of the philippinos do at easter were they actually get crucified nails banged in the job lot. they stay on the cross for 3 days.

i dont know wether it was there or japan where they all try to ride a massive log down a steep banking

The crucifiction thing sounds suitably gross, but we're filming next month rather than Easter... Do you know if there's a cult or something that do it though?
