Home school laws

What does everyone think about stricter homeschooling laws? Do you think it should be governed to a point?

I dont know what the laws are really lol but I think if kids are going to be home schooled they should be taught using the mainstream curriculum, the parents should have to report what they are doing to some schooling body and there should be compulsory excursions to make up for the lack of social interaction.

i have looked into home schooling my boys. i am not happy with the school and things there but at the moment i am finding it hard to get all the info i want and support from anyone.

I homeschool my son and I get advice and help from a teacher that I know..I use the same workbooks the school use.
