Because there's no longer a panic over "Gun-Grabbing" restrictions.

Mass shootings are common place now, so no need for further gun-control.

I've been seeing a lot more skunks recently too. It's always nice to see some of my cousins.

30 feet is waaaaay outside the 'firing range.' Most skunks can only spray about 12 feet, with 15 feet usually being the max range in some cases.

I was thinking my mom was she was alive last couple few days.

until about 25 years, when I was a boy and to a young man in my 20's. I was my mom, women tell me either family relatives, friends, or sometimes, strangers.

women tell me in front of my mom, twilite, you are a really handsome boy or man. my response to the person, " I know! " and my mom just looked at me, with disappointed in face and said to me, " said thank you. "

naturally, I said to my mom, " thank you! ". my mom gave a face said, " not me, to the person. " and then I said to the person, " thank you! " well, of course, my mom simply disowned me that every time at the moment.

it took plenty of time, with talking with a face from my mom until 25. now, I said " thank you! " to women said to me that I am handsome.

in 70's, I was a teenager, I had three pet rocks.

2 other rocks ran away, and other rock committed suicide. I didn't know that pet rocks had feelings.

one night, I woke my bathroom's toilet flushing, my dog was on my bed with him, and she hogging the blanket as usually. probably why, I never marry.

I turned on my bedroom's table by my bed, and there it was in black & white suicide note against my lamp. I opened the note, I was crying. then I got out of my bed and looking down the toilet.

the note said: " you really need to get a life! "

When I was young I had hope for the future, when I was older I had hope for the present, and now I long for the past.

Hard to believe it's been 17 years since that fateful day. I always wondered how our world would've turned out if it never happened. Would the Afghanistan/Iraq Wars had even happened?

Good question.

Not likely. The justification for both wars can be directly linked to 9/11 and "our" desire for revenge.

The Bush administration was young... the housing bubble was many years away. The "great recession" was also many years away, and may never have happened at all.

Hurricanes Katrina & Rita were also many years away.

Bush would likely have had four relatively boring years, which might well have translated into a one term presidency (much like his fathers, but without a war).

If the Bush presidency had been essentially boring and uneventful, it is likely that a Democrat would have won in 2004. If that had happened, his/her presidency might have hung on the federal response to Katrina & Rita... a lack luster response coupled with the pending housing bubble (assuming it "popped" at the same point in history) probably would have tanked this hypothetical Democrat president's career...

Obama was not in play at that time, and his "wave" may well have never come...

A Republican candidate then could very easily have been the to win in 2008. The recession may never have come. The Affordable Care Act would likely never have existed.

And it is likely that Trump would never have run for office...

Of course we will never know.
