I do kinda wonder why professional modeling software suites don't implement Boolean operations as simple as the star demonstration in this video.

Just how many "professional modeling software suites" are you familiar with?

Each one, that I have seen or used, will allow 3D Boolean operations.

Oh, most of them do - Even Curvy eventually added the option but the demonstration in this video is the simplest that I've seen it done.
