We just live temporarily in this world....We all don't know when we will depart from this world...Death comes like a thief, it is unexpected and we cannot refuse it...So the question is...Were there times in your life thinking about your death? And how do you feel about it?

I'm not afraid of dying, only how I die.

I think everyone has thought about their death, and most would want to die in their sleep ideally.

When I think about it, it scares me, it's the not knowing I guess.

I have thought of my death. I believe that it merely a natural part of life. I look forward to experiencing it as I have every other milestone of my existence.

No one looks forward to their death.
I hope it wont be for a while.

My apologies, I meant to say that I look forward to experiencing it, I am not afraid, nor am I in a hurry to die.

I'm more scared about HOW i will die, not in the afterwards. I'd like a pain-free death, as for death it self, nope not bothered about it at all. Nothing i can do about it so i don't fret about it. Its a lovely thing to not worry about things you can't control.

Yeah, I think we all fear pain, but we don't really know how much we'll fear actually dying. We're all to detached from an event that's way in the future. No matter how much anxiety or not that I'll experience, I'm sure I'll still be curious.....and hopeful.

Plus being old, feeble, tired and ready to go is a whole 'nother ball of wax from someone pointing a gun to my head right now. And no matter when or how, I hope, like Braveheart, to die well.

I don't fear death because I have no belief in an afterlife. What I do think about is the process of dying.

As I type this I am reminded that my mother-in-law is laying upon a hospital bed near death. She has cancer of the everything and despite the never ending amount of pain medication she doesn't get much relief from it. According to the doctors she has anywhere from 5 minutes to three weeks remaining.

I do not have a religious bone in my body but she has been a Christian all her life. She didn't show or mention any fear until yesterday.... she knows the end is near and despite her belief she is becoming afraid. When I spoke to her about it last night she was not afraid of death because she " knows " where she's going. She's afraid of the pain... she's afraid of choking to death and she is afraid of dying alone.

Nobody deserves to die like that and if I knew I could get away with it I would put a pillow over her head and let her slip away. I hope to be by her side when she goes and because of that I have been spending countless hours with her. My wife is there now and I will go again shortly.

I'm a big guy and have been through a lot. There isn't much I'm afraid of but I do fear for her and if I ever get like that I hope to be brave enough to put a gun to my head.

I worry about that folks I would leave behind. And for whatever few moments of knowing the high likely-ness of my death... be whatever the situation (if it is a painful one)...I might hope it happens...so that those left will not have to take care of a damaged version of me (out of care and love.. and the general scope of immorally letting someone die that may not want to burden their living/healthy loved ones)

...A bit much... ha... but yeah.

Not afraid of dying though... more so..living through a life changing "near death" experience.

Yes, my greatest fear is being a complete vegetable of burden.

But, Painful, if you become a vegetable, you won't know it or even be aware of how it's affecting your loved ones....

Not afraid to die. Looking forward to seeing my kin. More afraid of being a burden before I croak.
