Yellowstone is a puppy compared to Toba...When THAT sucker goes off...it is estimated that Toba is many times more powerful than Yellowstone, because it has been dormant longer than Yellowstone. The last time it erupted, there were mass extinctions down to a mere 5%.
Or, we could have a massive Basalt flood...We would be toast!

A strand of antimatter floating through space collides with the earth's atmosphere, causing the entire universe to rapidly recede back into it's original form as a small infinitely dense ball of matter/anti-matter... At least we wouldn't feel anything

Why do you assume that?
It kinda strikes me that that would rather hurt, however fleetingly.

it's ok.
anti-matter only attacks at night.
we never see it coming

It would happen so incredibly fast that we wouldn't even feel or notice it until we just cease to exist.

?We now know that every particle has an antiparticle, with which it can annihilate. There could be whole antiworlds and antipeople made out of antiparticles. However, if you meet your antiself, don?t shake hands! You would both vanish in a great flash of light.? Stephen Hawking

Also here's another interesting article about it:

If I type the letter "Y" three times in a single post then we'll all be dead within 24 hours..

Of course there's never going to be a case where I'd type the letter "Y" three times in a single post, because the letter "Y" isn't that common.

Oh, s***.. We've all got less than a day to live.

I counted six, does that mean we only have 12 hours?

That wouldn't happen. The antimatter would annihilate with its matter counterparts; if it was a low-energy reaction, they would release gamma rays, if it was high energy it might release more massive particles. Or it might produce a single virtual photon which then decayed back into matter and antimatter. In any case, it would just produce a little puff of energy, it wouldn't destroy the entire universe.

maybe matter and anti matter make up matter?
each atom has a +,-, and neutral.
to change the + and - to have a anti atom in that form might be a different way matter could have formed?

i'm no scientist.
just tryin to learn.

The end of the world is already a given, once the sun dies all life on Earth will end. Sure, it won't be for quite a while but it will happen.

Other than that, if you're talking about the extinction of the human race, I think that is most likely to be caused by contagion, some sort of new virus that is fatal to us and that mutates too quickly for medicine to stop it.
