What is your favorite Olympic event to watch?

The Women's balance beam just amazes me to no end. How those Girls can do those flips and jumps and stay balanced on a 6" wide beam is beyond me. The second contender in this video does a flip and lands on just one leg!!!

Beach Volleyball

Women's gymnastics - floor.

I was just watching last night and the balance beam was my least favorite. It didn't used to be, but it seems like they've changed things and they're more spazzy during their routine. It's like they're in such a rush to throw as many tricks in as they can that they've forgotten the grace part.

The floor routine creeps me out. I leave the room, come back in and camera angle makes the girl look headless.

All four women's gymnastics. What they do and the fact that after 15 to 20 years-old they're pretty much washed up, just amazes me. Only 1 maybe 2 Olympics, tops.

I also like men's regular volleyball.

Both of them have a very annoying aspect. After every point in volleyball, they all have to do a group hug, EVERY POINT. WTF?

And then the men coaches having to hug and kiss and grope the female gymnasts after every exercise borders on pedophilia. I'm sure some of it may be genuine, but it's all still inappropriate unless the coach is the father or something. Hell, high school teachers can't even touch a student for any reason.

I think for the athletes in both sports it's obligatory and phoney. I can actually see some of the girls cringing, or at least thinking "Oh God, here he comes again" **weak smile**. In his defense, Gabby's coach appeared to avoid the "show" as much as possible. Hmmm, could it be some didn't do that well because they were thinking about that greasy little ceremony if they did. "Oh goddamn! I STUCK IT!!!"

Atheletics, gymnastics and diving.

I would have said swimming as well before, but there has been so much swimming on this week that if I see it again I will throw my goggles at the tv

I like the horsey ones, dressage or whatever it's called. I don't really care for the sport though, I just like looking at the pretty horses

Can't be bothered with anything else, though I don't mind the skiing/snowboarding in the winter olympics. It's mildly entertaining when they crash.

I've really enjoyed the rowing this year, I love Steve Redgrave he seems a genuine, lovely guy - he's practically carried a few of the guys to the medal ceremony.

I usually like the diving and horse stuff too.

Winter Olympics are usually more interesting though, with the skating and skiing.

I like the gym stuff, and the running. I like the mens' legs.

Town Planning and Poetry should be brought back imo.

You mean the combined disciplines of dressage, show jumping and eventing. Yeah, they are the best.
