It's just part of the process of trying to self-identify in a modern society. Music is a significant cultural marker and one that young people tend to latch onto very strongly. That tends to fade significantly in the years after you leave school, get a job, etc. This is obviously also related to the fact that people still tend to strongly identify with whatever they listened to in their late teens and early 20s even once they are decades past those ages.

Disagree there Jonnythan.

Personally I'm just as much into music now as I was when I was 16,maybe so even more now because thanks to the interweb I have even more access to it and information regarding it.

Saying this I don't have any other hobbies films/gaming ect...
