you should also have the "Grab" utility app in your HD/Applications/Utilities/Grab. [...] easier than the three fingered keyboard option and creates a tiff.

when i found out about prnt scrn, i was randomly punching it and then saving it... i do that all the time and it is really good for tutorials!

why is it when i screen print, while watching a movie.. AVI, in most cases, it doesn't copy correctly.

Hi Do u want to know about Print Scrn, then when want to capture the desktop u can use this button.Simply when u using the paint and there is something in desktop u can save a picture of desk top by using Print Scrn button.

You just have to press print screen: that will copy the image from your screen to the clipboard. After, you have to open an imaging software like paint or photoshop or it can be a mail software. Then you past your image by doing control+V or you go in the edit menu then press past.

I use mspaint with the print screen function, It works well. You can use it with dual monitors, it will capture both.

Also while your at it, chem out the windows key for many more tools, features and shortcuts

i would not recommend using jpegs as they loose quality over time. They are also falt images which do not support layers, i would use either RAW, TIFF or PNG but i do not think that paint exports to these.

Jpg files can be quite adequate, depending on their use but you do have to be aware of some aspect of the file format. It is lossy compression. The higher the compression the smaller the file size and the lower the quality. I oven use 20% compression and get adequate quality for website images.

If you continue to save the file it will get worse, so you are best to leave the original master and save to a new file.

Some sites disable COPY/PASTE controls, so honestly I love the PRINT SCREEN... It's very reliable...
