Pardon my French, but if one more air head claims diabetes is from "eating too much sugar" I'm gonna burst. Type one,which I have is caused by an overactive immune system, which wipes out the islets of langerhans on the pancreas, they don't come back! Type two can be caused by a number of different reasons, including obesity but for the love of puke, not all of us are obese! I'm off my soap box.

I hear ya! MY mom has type 2 and so does every other member of her family and they're not obese! calm down! people are stupid.

Don't listen to what those people believe. Those people are so gullible (to put it nicely) that they will believe just about anything. Sadly, those people won't listen to the truth. It's just like those people that are claiming vaccinations are causing autism, which is totally garbage. Good for yo for not accepting whatever you hear because some it obviously is trash. Your own experience is key as well. Many people don't have diabetes so they really know nothing about it except what the liberal media says, and that is a shame.

I know what you mean dolphinluver it seems that today you can't turn on the t.v without hearing the latest about something that will give you cancer or such and such disease.

It's confusing people and giving them wrong information, I have a friend that will not eat red meat at all coz she heard on the news that it will give you bowel cancer if you eat it, so she refuses to eat it at all.

I think it is sad when people take such statements so seriously and as if it's the last and final say, and I think that before people rely on what has been said on the news that if they are that worried about contracting a certain disease to do some research on it, like go to doctors and read books on the subject.

Oh well I guess there is nothing we can do about it, people will believe what they wanna believe in the end.
