Is it impotant that young people should know about their countries history??

I don't think it should be just resticted to young people..I think people shouldn't be ignorant of history but I don't think it should be shoved down their throats.

I think everyone should know thier countries history and then maybe a little world history, perhaps then we just may remember why wars and stuff happened and avoid doing the same thing

We can't repeat the same mistakes now can we.

i think it would be nice for us young people to know our countries history but it shouldnt be forced on people(not that it is)i personally stopped studying history this year but i know the basics of my countries history so im not ashamed

i think kids should learn history not just the kings and queens but the social history. it narks me we we call ourselves the mother of democracy when we were way behind a lot of countries look how long women had to struggle for the vote. its such a shame we reintroduced the monarchy after oliver cromwell

The mother of democracy was greece, most of the rest of the world tried to embrace it, in some countries the thought of the little man having an opinion and being able to vote and to disagree was more than some could bare so they did away with it we are lucky, although some would beg to differ.
