How much?

How much did you spend on books this semester? I just purchased my books and my husband's books and spent a grand total of $728.59. My books alone cost about $450.

Ouch.

I generally got out of buying as many books as I could, and would get only those I couldn't do without. I would call professors and explain that I was broke, and let them tell me whether I needed the book or not- for many of my courses, they were advised and not required, and no one in the class ever used one.. even when they had purchased it.

eh.. haven't bought 'em yet, but I'm guessing no more than $100 (only have 2 classes... usually buy used from amazon)

i buy books from people who have had the class the last semester and pay around 1/4 of the price.

I spent over $300. I buy mine at the campus bookstore. I would buy them elsewhere, but by the time I find out what book I actually need, it's too late to order the book because I'll need the book for class when it starts a couple of days later. It would be nice if I could find out what I needed a lot earlier.

I spent around $500.00.
