Close family friends have just lost one family member and possibly another due to this senseless accident.

The 36yr old man & 35yr old woman are the youngest brother and sister-in-law of a family friend. The woman is in critical condition and possibly will not survive the next few days. They also have 3 very young children and the way things are looking, there may not be anyone in the family that can permanently care for them. Sue and Danny(the family friends) have multiple medical conditions and cannot care for young children at this time.
Sue and Danny have been through so much in the past and present, that this accident just might cause Sue to be hospitalized for mental instability.
Twenty years ago they lost their middle child due to a house fire. It happened on New Years Eve while they were sleeping. Kristie died due to smoke inhalation. Sue, Danny and their two other children made it out, but Sue & Danny were severally burned(2nd & 3rd degree burns) from going in and out of the house trying to look for and get Kristie out.
Other incidences have occurred to this family in the past, but I am not going to go into details since it's private matters.
Two weeks ago, Danny lost his cousin due to a car accident caused by a drunk driver.
I don't know how much more they can take. Sue is not doing well mentally at the moment, especially since it was her baby brother that was killed and there is currently a very stressful, situation happening with their grandson(who they have raised since he was a toddler).
