Sore throat won't go away...

Oh, I don't know if it's a sinus cold or what. My throat hurts so bad. I have tried tea with honey, gargle with salt, effervescents, benedryl, and sleep. Gargling with salt water helped a little.

maybe its Strep Throat???

How long have you had it? Do you have any other symptoms (sore ears, runny nose, fever)? Have you tried cough drops or throat drops?

Drink orange juice at least twice a day and get some vitamin C tablets.

At night...before bed...continue with the hot water/salt gargle.

Another thing that works great is...about 1/4 cup of semi hot,warm milk...little salt and some Tumeric. About 1/2 a teaspoon of it.

If you don't like it salty...then you can do 1/2 teaspoon of tumeric and mix it with a little honey and just lick it.

Tumeric works...(Indian remedy) my mom use to give it to me all the time when i was younger.

I have had it since Monday. It started out on the left side. By Tuesday it spread to the right side. Then Wed. the sore throat went away and I was very nasaly. Then last night the right side off my throat started hurting really bad. I just cant shake it.

I think most of the OTC meds say that if it lasts more than a week, without improvement, that you should see a doctor. I get sore throats with allergies, but my ears itch like mad and I get horrible headaches at the same time. There's nothing to be done for me and this has gone on since I was 14, so I'm used to it by now.

I always get fevers with strep, but I'm sure not every one does. You're married, yes? See if your hubby can see any white spots on the back of your throat and if he CAN, call your doctor in the morning.
