Isaiah 55:8-9 - "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,"declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. - God makes good things and bad things happen to all of us, sometimes for reasons known only to him, and we may not always like how he does things, but he does everything his way as he tells us in the book of Isaiah. When things are going well for us we may not give God a thought, but when something bad happens we often wonder why he let it happen or didn't step in and prevent it in the first place. It seems like trouble is everywhere all the time, but we must remember that God is in control. I think Job of the old testament said it best long ago in Job 2:10 - Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" - The Bible uses the word trouble about 175 times and makes it clear that it will always be with us. Our troubles started when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and fell into the sin that we all have inherited, and our planet is now very different than when it was first created. Because of this God has provided us with a Savior in his son Jesus. We are told about it atJohn 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.-Jesus was the only one who could do this, and nothing we can do will save us. If we could save ourselves God would not have sent his son to do it, and he's waiting for everyone to come to him.
