The List (Reposted from 2010)
July 02, 2018 @ 02:43:07 pm
1 Timothy 1:15 - This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance: "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners" - and I am the worst of them! This Bible verse makes me think of a list that contains the names of everyone (sinful man) who will live, now lives, or has ever lived on the earth, and mine is the very first name on the list, because I should regard myself as the worst sinner of all. We can all think of someone that we think is worse than ourselves and we all like to think that we're not bad people and that if we lead a good life, that will be enough to save us. But the Bible says otherwise. Jesus came to save us, because no matter what we try, we can't save ourselves. This doesn't seem right to us because of our sinful nature that we inherited from Adam and Eve. Jesus' merits and his sacrifice on the cross alone take away all our sin and reconciles us to God. And he does this as a free gift to us, and not because of anything we have done, because we are loved by God. It is difficult for all of us to think of ourselves as the worst sinner, but then we should remember 1 Timothy 1:15 and have faith in Jesus Christ. https://whataboutjesus.com

I'd hate to find out if I was "the worst." I'd rather assume I was worst and be done with it.

I reduce my exposure to others and when I am with others I don't go heavy. Comparing my sins against God would be heavy (heaviest)

---I won't do that.

Why are you guys putting yourselves down?

Didn't your god die for your sins?

Aren't you saved by his grace?

You should be joyful in your salvation and love of god... and follow Jesus' words and love others also...

But maybe you weren't really saved by Jesus, so you are depressed at your status as a doomed sinner.

I recommend reading your holy book, aka the Bible, from 1st word to last... study it... don't let others tell what it says... embrace the love of your god.

Or... hey... its a free country... run around putting yourselves down and disrespecting the sacrifice that your god made for you...

Freedom of Religion!!!
